    Evening all

I have added a small collection of photos taken at Barry scrapyard, i am hoping someone can identify at least 3 of the locos in the photos
Could this be one of the GWR Kings? any help please?

Most likely 6023, with that missing chimney.
    Any other [more knowledgeable] opinions?

Something else to note, some of those pics are reversed, door hinges on the wrong side

Not wishing to nitpick, but photos 1 and 3 are back to front (look at the smokebox door hinges).

I hope Neil doesn't mind, but I have "turned" the two pictures round the right way.

What ever is that loco opposite 47279 in pic 3? It looks like a diesel, but I thought Barry only had 4, and its deffo not one of those!

I would say that is the same loco as Neil's picture, as well as the chimney & RH buffer, the outside cylinder steam pipe has half it's casing missing, plus the bottom slide bar is missing.
The most notable thing is that the rear driving wheels are not cut although I'm not sure when 6023's were cut.

I seem to remember, from my visits to Barry that the Kings were up in the Top yard away from the bulk of the locos.

No, they were definitely at West Pond.

Many of the locos sat in the Top Yard for a while, on arrival, before being moved to the West Pond yard.

I visited Barry on quite a few occasions and my first memory of 6023 was seeing her in this condition with 6024 behind. Both had their tenders attached. Not sure of the location within the Barry complex but if I recall from memory they were almost at the buffer end of a long siding.
