I see Leary is for sale at the Richmond Light Railway (http://www.ingr.co.uk/equip_sale.html). A very nice piece of kit, though I hadn't realised she was 3/4 scale - though I thought she looked fractionally smaller then she should.

We'd love her here in South Wales, but not sure she could cope with the 1-in-40 with three coaches on

It's about 3/4 scale but the engine and boiler are second hand model engineering items. So it isn't really 3/4 of the power. The engine was always a bit of a weak link and I believe it is somewhat more reliable since Jeremy replaced it.

We used to count its haulage capacity in people rather than vehicles on the FR. It didn't have much grunt but was great fun on a sunny afternoon.

I presume you’re talking about Margam park? Are things still happening there then?

They are - or they will be. Covid has obviously had a knock-on impact on everything and we've lost two potential volunteers for Covid related reasons, but we're still proceeding and working with NPTC to make something happen
