    Has this thing steamed in pres ? My cousins trying to claim he's had it at the Mid Hants, But I'm pretty sure it's always been static and just pulled/pushed, Can anyone confirm ?.

    245 has not steamed in preservation , it did not whilst at Mid hants, some lighted rags were put in the smoke box when it was towed by the N class ,
    the motion then was not fitted but i understand is complete and in store at York
    As far as i know, there are no plans to return this engine to steam .

    245 did visit the MHR during the LSWR 150 celebrations, but she was never steamed and was only ever pushed around as a "pilot" for a working loco.
