    Although weaned on steam I have always had a soft spot for the Deltics. In another thread I alluded to Napier the inventor of logs. As a result of Ralph,s comment I looked up the origins of D Napier & Sons and came across this fascinating history of Scottish engineering of which many of the companys I have worked in, commissioning machinery.
