    Does anyone know the plan for here, are they going to use the station on the line or just on special occasions?? are there any plans for anything alse around the triangle as there is a huge plot of land?? station buildings?? i have seen the platforms but cant find out any info on it?

  3. Just to summarise, the platform at Norton is currently authorised for special services only, for example a DMU shuttle from Bishops Lydeard during the Steam Rally. Yes it is a large plot of land, around 33 acres. A small area (unofficially called the Ballasto Field) is used for dealing with the incoming spent ballast from Network Rail. Apart from the land taken up by the West Chord (c26 chains) and East Chord (c16 chains) the rest of the land is let for grazing farm stock. Thus most of the 33 acres is raising revenue. Oh, and the whole area hosts the August Steam Rally.
