Do you have any personal nicknames for locos or multiple units?

    Some of mine:

    • Slim Slidies - 317s
    • Slammie Sandwiches - 312s
    • Commando Train - 319s (they look like they're wearing balaclavas)

A few I sometimes use are as follows
    20188- Thundermoose.
50031- pooH (turn the nameplate around, and you get the idea)
D1015- 1075, Western Hameroid (as its a 'pile)
40106- The green goddess (as Keith Lemon would say, you are FAF)
And finally my own personal favorite is for all the SVR based 50's is- The Home Fleet as Hood, Ark Royal and Exeter were all involved in the sinking of Bismark should imagine a fair few who served were also trained at Defiance too. And for you saddo's like me the easy way to identify the shore based namers like 50049 (diamond shaped plaque) and the ocean goers like 50035 (circular plaque).

Always wondered why there were various pairs like D1036/37 Emperor/Empress D1039/40 King/Queen D1041/42 Prince/Princess. But poor old D1056 Western Sultan had rule without 1075 Western Sultana does anyone know why this was?

After renewing my friendship with 37419 last weekend in some circles she was known as 'the killer' due to her running over some poor sod between Chester and Rhyl. Story goes that cranks in front coach were woken up by bump bump bump. Sombody asked what caused it and was told 'bet we've hit someone' they went and spoke to driver. Driver says do one until poor old shunter at Holyhead comes to do run round.. Funny how some engines get a name as a jinx I think 37675 was transfered from St Blazey for a similer reason.

Doesn't everyone refer/referred to 47703 as Herpes instead of Hermes ?.
