Sadly not the aircraft and no doubt i'm probably going to be regarded as a philistine for not posting a picture of a train on a railway forum, but pfffff.

Here are a few photos of a quite impressive storm the other night.

Impressive shots, not to keen on the token train though...

Agree Ralph. Koln sees far too many boxes. Although last time I was there the Junkers tri-motor was flying circuits over the town. Or was it a Fokker? (Reminds me of the Irish fighter pilots in WW11, "Watch out Paddy there's a Fokker behind you", "Yes Murphy, and there's one of the Fokkers behind you too...").

Lovely storm photos though. Presumably over the Rhein?

I had supper with a German friend, (he was a driver and one of the management team of the Brohltalbahn), once with my lovely wife and daughters. He lived in the hilly part North of the Mosel and N West of Koblenz. I forget the names of the hills now. We drove back to where we were staying in the Mosel in the most incredible electrical storm I have seen. And I've seen a few approaching that in Austria and South Africa especially. We sat on the balcony back at our little hotel in Tries-Karden and at one point I think there was a two minute period where the thunder and lightning became continuous. I mean there was never a break from either. I doubt I will ever experience that again. An astonishing spectacle. Just multiple lightning strikes all around us and a cacophony of noise.

Crickey forgot to put, it was Lake Luzern, I was trying to fish out some other photos during my post of more trains, but my computer went and crashed half way though, i'll try and sort them out again when I get some some free time.

Wish I had a decent photo of a EE Lightning!
