    Evening All,

After two weeks of messing me about, British Telecom have finally managed to re-connect my Broadband which was cut off in error earlier this month. Just imagine, two weeks without the Internet, apart from a painfully slow temporary emergency dial-up connection! At long last I can look at the pictures and videos of recent railtours kindly posted on here.

I have also now been able to put my pictures of 'Earl of Mount Edgcombe' at Reading and 44932 at Wokingham onto my Fotopic site. Hardly hot off the presses, more like archive pictures, but for anyone interested to see them, they are here :

    http://ronfisher2.fotopic.net/c1907221.html

As usual, they are in the 'Stop Press!' (Ha Ha) collection but, in due course, they will be transferred to the Main Line Steam collection and you will then find them here :

To whet your appetite, here's the first one :

Clicking on the picture will enlarge it and take you to the others. Hope that you think they were worth waiting for!

I don't know if this is any help to you, I have a pay as you go mobile broadband dongle for use in emergencies. You can top it up as & when required ie if your broadband goes down. It's quicker than dial up but obviously not quite as fast as "landline" broadband. It is also a bit more expensive to to use than normal broadband but as I say ok for emergencies & you should be able to upload photos etc.

refering to the above how hideous the approach to reading from the west now looks,uh!! how much more magical it would have been at reading if it had been possible for 5043 to have come 'storming' through the 'middle' road there, especially the speed 5043 was travelling at when i saw passing cholsey along with a lovely sounding beat, this really would have been magical for this is where i would have been had 5043 been so booked.

An email to Ben@vintagetrains.co.uk with any sensible suggestions will have some thought given to them.

Thanks for your suggestion; I'm not that well up with technology so you will have to explain to me what a dongle is. I hope that it's not as rude as it sounds!!

Looks almost like a usb memory stick which plugs into the usb port of your pc & connects to a particular mobile network & allows you to connect to the internet at reasonable speeds though not quite as fast as home broadband. Here is one example although all the major mobile networks do a similar thing.

All in good time, we are minded to run it to Plymouth on its own at some point. As for a "real" Torbay Express, all things are possible, but a lot of people would have to promise to travel on it rather than just watching it traverse the B&H line, positioning moves for such trains tend to cost us an awful lot of money and one way moves don't sell well enough to pay for them.
    Regards
    Bob
