    Morning All,

As a spotty schoolboy I used to get the bus to London Airport to watch the planes coming and going and the ones that made the most impression on me were the TWA Constellations with their three tail fins.

All a long time ago, of course, but I had no idea that some Constellations still survived. But a few do and I had the pleasure of seeing one again last Sunday as it flew right over my house. I took a few pictures and they are now on my Flickr site; this is the first one in the Photostream if anyone would like to see them :

They are also in this Album together with other pictures of historic aircraft seen at Farnborough last week; these include the Avro Vulcan amongst other things :

Hope that they are of interest.

    Very cool.

Back in 2004 I was in Kansas, at the now closed city aerodrome, interesting place, I was just about to leave when the guy said...
You know there's a TWA Constellation about to land in 20 minutes...

    Wow !

No I do not currently volunteer
I used to cycle to Heathrow from Watford in the mid to late 1950s,in those days you could cycle through the tunnel to the Queens Building.Aircraft would be Constellations,Stratocruisers,DC 4/6/7 and Argonauts with Merlin engines.Short haul would be Dakotas,Ambassadors,Vikings,Viscounts and others I cannot now remember. The Super Constellation mentioned at Farnborough was also at this years Flying Legends Airshow at Duxford.Incidentally the Science Museum has a freight conversion of a Connie at its site at Wroughton. It had been left at Dublin Airport.I was Mate of the freight ferry which shipped it to the UK in pieces.
