    Location; Bournemouth Ticket Office.

Time: About 1800 (on a weekday I think)

I am on the ticket office window with no queue ( was so good at quickly selling tickets or was it dead quiet. Either way you can picture the scene).

A good looking young lady, with a nice smile and beautiful body approaches the window and asks (in an Aussie accent, so I suppose she was Austrialian) "You,re not going to tell me the next train to Reading goes from the otherside (Plat 3)?"

"No" I replied " This platform (pointing to platform 2) in about 20 minutes and goes straight through to Reading"

"Ah great" She says "You,re brilliant" and as she turns away......"You can father my children anyday".......... :-#

Account clerk (in the back of the ticket office) "Steve.............did she just say.....???"

I got something like that at Horsham. Went to the window and asked for a ticket to Falmer (near Brighton) to look at the University of Sussex.

    'That'll be £53.00 please'

'What? But it's only about 20 miles away?!'

'Sorry, I thought you said Falmouth'

I wouldn't mind, but Horsham and Falmer are both run by Southern TOC!!!

Man approaches ticket office " Can I have a return ticket please"

    Ticket office clerk "Where to?"

Man "Well back here of course"

Whilst not quite a true story it has been said tongue in cheek a few times..

    In a similar vein...

Woman approaches ticket office window - "Can I have a single return to Corfe Castle?"

"Was that a single or a return?"

    "That's right, a single return..."
