Send it to Flying Scotsman support crew, they have one that doesn't work.

If that is a locomotive number stamp then 30005 was a Adams 0-4-4 F6 locomotive (LSWR No5) built in 1894 and withdrawn in 1950, that loco had an interesting life as it was a early pull/push fitted machine, and also lent to the LMS in during WWII for use on the S&DJR additionally it was the 4th from last T1/F6 withdrawn with only 30020 & 30367 going in May 1951 and the last, 30007 going in June of that same year.

This is a lovely early image of 366 (30366 which survived until late 1948) where the whistle is just visible.

It seems unlikely that whistles were commonly stamped with the locomotive number in service, as they were interchangeable. Unfortunately, without provenance, it is usually impossible to know which loco they are from, hence the large number of GW whistles which are claimed to be from a King.
