The Ardingly Branch. It may be remembered that some years ago, when training as a Bluebell guard, I produced the first draft of a map (‘White’s projection?’) which got the whole Railway on a single sheet of A4. That was in the days of the...

That highlights the question of what a “member” is and the purpose of membership. Traditionally the assumption was that people became members to help sustain a railway’s finances. In terms of willingness to support appeals, leave legacies etc....

You do have to wonder if something's gone wrong if a volunteer of 30 years feels they have nothing in common with a society with the nominal purpose of supporting said railway...

MellishR 回复主题: Jacobite 2025.
What they appear (from the outside) to be doing is burying their collective heads in the sand, waiting for a U-turn from ORR. That position is evidently doing some harm to the Jacobite's reputation. How long they can maintain it is uncertain.

It's an interesting thought, though an obvious immediate concern is that you might then have an awkward PR situation on your hands if a steam loco failed and you had to substitute a diesel at short notice, after many people had paid the premium...

Did the NYMR ever explore whether a Gift Aid, “Grosmont - Pickering only” fare was available in addition to the Whitby -Pickering? You’ve made much play on the HMRC deeming that the price had to include viewing the “whole” work of the charity,...

I'm sorry, but this reply really does demonstrate the one-dimensional thinking hat pervades the NYMR management. They know the buzzwordsw about "premium services" but haven't a clue about how to provide them! Grosmont to Whitby is in demand and...

The problem is you're seeing it as though suddenly everyone will be buying internal tickets rather than full line tickets - that's not the case. You've stated on a number of occasions that Whitby is the main destination, and nobody will refute...
