I think that diesel is usually shown at 95mph.
Only done Thurso and Wick once before on a Compass diesel tour from in Inverness, would seriously think about doing just that day.

That maybe so for one positioning but surely over any distance and many hundreds of readings, that error will reduce to become insignificant?

I'm told it's wires as well as a tree so nothing moving. Just as well the WCR drivers have the route knowledge to be able to go the long way round.
For those who may not be aware, Jack-A-Bite have been supplying sandwiches etc to WCR for many years.
