Forgive my ignorance but what is this certain engine with an American wheelbase?

 

Well the NYMR already has two Black 5s and two Std 4 2-6-4Ts and one day might have two S15s. It's not a question of being greedy, they're all ideal engines as is 76084, so why not. I just wish we could have two B1s as well!

 

My comment was meant purely tongue in cheek. The NYMR would be a great home for 76084. Personal bias on my part just makes me hope it stays in Norfolk.

In fact any chance of 61264 making a visit to Norfolk some time? Lol

 

I imagine 'Repton' with it being a 4-4-0

Well, I think the agreement between 61264's owning group and the NYMR has, or is about to, run out so they could soon be free agents, but I very much doubt whether they could match the mileage payments they are currently making from the NYMR. I would guess that they'll have run well in excess of 10,000 miles this year. A lovely engine, perfect for the NYMR - I hope it never leaves (and that we see more of the K1 in future!)

 

I was just hoping to see it at an NNR gala in the future!

 

Line speed between Cromer and Sheringham is 30mph for non-sprinter trains (think they can do 50 or 55), with at least one PSR of 20mph covering a few crossings. However NNR coaches are only certified for 25mph, so that’s the limiting factor for their services.

Only joking. Historian and TV presenter Lucy Worsley travelled behind the loco on a murder mystery dining train last night. She certainly seems to have an interest in Steam loco's as when we travelled behind 61306 on it's first ML trip in the South she was having a good look at her at the Guildford water stop.

As wild unfounded speculation I'll go with this @Hicks19862 there is a rumour (told to me by a friend of the cousin of the bloke who walks the dog of a bloke who sometimes has a pint with the guy who plays bass in the band that the night shift manager of Crown Point goes to see in the Coach and Horses sometimes) Abellio Anglia have it lined up for RHTT trains.
