76084

Oops got my decades wrong 76084 worked to July 67 and withdrawn Dec 67

 

I have uploaded a few shots of 76084 that I took on the NNR 10 days ago.
It looked and sounded good. My congratulations to the team that put the loco back together.

4 Days to GO - 76084 fact - spent 14 years at Woodhams Scrapyard initially earmarked for preservation on the ELR then the Hallamshire Preservation Society undertook to paint 76084 in read lead but did not proceed with purchase. Phil Rollin bought 76084 in 1982. She was the 143rd to leave Barry in January 1983.

 

3 Days to GO - 76084 fact - spent 14 years as a garden ornament in South Levington Notts. Phil Rollin wanted to restore 76084 using his garden shed as the workshop. He cosmetically restored her but sadly died before realising his ambition.

 

The 76084 Shareholder Special is not listed in the public timetable. NNR promised 76084 Locomotive Company Limited a special occasion and a special train we have been given.

There will be no public accommodation on the Shareholder Special. Sorry, but it is reserved for shareholders and invited guests.

 

2 Days to GO - 76084 fact - taken a small team of devoted enthusiasts sometimes in arduous conditions 16 years to restore - thanks guys - ending 46 years out of service.

A shame the Sun wouldn't shine but 76084 still positively gleamed and sounded great as she worked her first trains in 46 years. A small selection here, more to follow when I have had some sleep Congratulations to the group, you must be incredibly proud today.

Congratulations guys! She looks great. Another BR Standard back to life doing what she was designed to do.

 

Superb job, congratulations. Not a hint of any stray steam below the running plate, indicates a job very well done.

I hope the loco might one day visit the Severn Valley. Would be assured of a very warm welcome!

Beautiful, just beautiful! Well done to you all who have brought this lovely BR Class 4 back to life.

 

Lovely restoration job, well done guys.

It wont be too long before we will have 3 out of 4 remaining Standard 4 moguls running with 76079 and 76017 following 76084 into traffic in the relatively near future. Leaving just 76077 on the G.W.R to complete the set.

 

Maybe im a step nearer to my dream pairing, ivatt 4mt and a standard 4mt double heading....

 

Thanks to all forum members who have left comments about 76084's return to traffic. We are very proud of our achievement.

76084 has already become one of the mainstays on the NNR and is repaying our debt to them. She will be peforming on the Haloween and Santa Specials subject to availability.

 

Looks gorgeous, well to done to all. Great to see another engine return to steam.
