    Pendennis Castle?

    Although strictly the train wouldn't have had that name in 1925 would it?

    89001 was normally operated on the Kings Cross - Leeds services - I can't recall her on northern Routes north of York. Other potential haulers still operating, however, include 60532; D200; D345; 60009; D1500 / 47401; D1501 / 47402;

    60532? Unlikely. The A2s were initially used for London Leeds services before being sent north of the border. They along with Thompson's A2 sub classes are likely to have been rare beasts on the FS. Peppercorn A1s though more likely.

    Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but the NYMR appear to be taking bookings for March 2016 for 60103 hauled trains. £38 return.

    60% of available tickets already sold, I believe. Bean Counter probably has the exact figure.

    Strictly speaking I think it was officially an ECML spare/strengthening vehicle but could have been used on the Scotsman. You'd have to ask JH for the source for the York Area Group's claim about this vehicle.

    I had the privilege of living in this vehicle for a week in Loughborough station, whilst undertaking some body frame repairs on the BGP at Rothley. I believe I was the last person to use it as accommodation. From what I remember about half the interior partitions are missing and there are some modifications to the body frame. Neither of these 1924 carriages will be easy or cheap to restore.

    Sawdust.
