And it should have had a white light to the front, and a red to the rear. Whats its TOPS number?

Is the fuel endurance on that greater than the prototype?

There looks to be a fairly well trodden footpath there. Is that the route the local dog walkers (who have been mentioned in previous posts) use?

Lets hope none of them are really big jobs, but given the amount of work needed to restore her some snagging lists ar to be expected .

It has been mentioned that owing to the number of staff working on 4472, the work on 45407 and 44871 has been delayed and with 45212 planned to go to KWVR it has meant that the Tin Bath may well have two Jubilees on, but the trip has had to be rerouted due to the age old problem, gauging.

It has been reported 45212 will be diesel hauled to Keighley as it won't have been fitted with gsmr etc equipment before the gala.

    And?.............

If you take on a contract & have a deadline to meet, any 'pet projects' get put on the back burner - simples.

Any road, the monies Riley's will have earned from this 'small' job, will no doubt go a long way to the upkeep of his pet 5's! :)

As for the Tin Bath, I'll say nothing at this time.

So do you think in a pit early in the morning in the cold and damp removing springs and air pump is easy!.

I think I agree with the Druid. Nowt to worry about compared with previous lists of 'things wrong with Flying Scotsman' (and grateful to the people willing to work in the cold & damp :) )

Routine as opposed to easy ie bread and butter jobs for a competent business.

Keith, DD works on the restoration of wagons (old, rusty, out in the open etc.)
Comparatively, removing parts that have only just been put on, so will not be rusted into place, in Ian Riley's works will be a relatively straightforward job.

The Flying Scotsman was ‘running in’ on the East Lancs Railway last weekend and the coming weekend. Assuming they solve the brakes issue, and no further problems are found, it is due to move up to Carnforth next week for its loaded test run (they run a full length train without passengers round the loop Carnforth - Hellifield - Blackburn - Preston - Carnforth). If all is well, it will operate the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express on Saturday week.
There is a caviate though. The 'Office of Rail and Road' (ORR) have imposed a deadline of 20th January for consultation on potential withdrawl of the West Coast Rail operating licence. Since WCR operate about 80% of the steam hauled trips on the mainline, loss of the licence would seriously cut back mainline steam.

Are there estimates what day the move to Carnforth will be - I assume the circuit test will be the day following that - obviously usual caveats will apply!

(its probably written somewhere on here but to be honest I cannot be bothered to trawl back through livery discussions and drone issues - sorry!)
