    Suggestions on WNXX that Inter City may be wound down . No tours for 2026 so far and 2025 seemed to have had a number of cancellations . Very different market to steam tours so maybe not found a niche yet

    Not really ..they are Euston -Crewe (and Crewe-Euston would be ECS moves ) using diesel and electrics on Saphos stock pre A2/A4 taking over to Carlisle .

    Appears to have gone horribly wrong. I'm not on it, but according to reports elsewhere the Badger failed right at the start so the tour is now a Class 90 and only going to Carlisle, not Glasgow.

    "Horribly wrong" I would suggest is a significant over reaction. It failed as older locos and indeed modern ones do from time to time. The train got rescued and went to a different destination but arrived back at Crewe 2 mins late

    Reportedly Inter City has redated the tour & all those with tickets yesterday are transferred to the new date or can have a full refund. Seems very fair.
