Perhaps Patriot/ Morayshire/ whoever / would take Mk1 BK's for support coaches as part of any settlement...

What bodies are not permitted (or are permitted if quicker)? Is it older iterations of the BRn design? Commonwealths, or it specifics like roller bearings/brake arrangements?

 

Good point . but even the body would be worth something...

 

We have not put any bids in for any coaches.

I have a friend who is involved in a railway who said that the coaches they put bids in for all got out bid. I don't know by who or any prices, however the clearly shows that there is the money to buy up these items from certain individuals.

In my opinion, the trust comes across as owning enough coaches of its own to run services, so should concentrate on the other items of rolling stock for maintenance etc. Either way I'm sure it will all come out in news at some point soon.

 

Hopefully that should end speculation that they're all going to be scrapped...

 

But what if they’ve been bought for spares?

Anyone know how the bidding process works? Is it all sealed bids, or auction style?

 

Or a scrapper with deep pockets.

Or someone with a fetish for MK1s. (Apparently they were seen on a lowloader labelled 'To Hayling Island, property of P.H(rest of label can't be seen)).

 

They are pure faux de mieux stuff but a means of getting some liquid cash for Llangollen either as vehicles or scrap

 

Not for Llangollen, it won't any money raised will go towards the banks and administrators fees ,and whats left shared out to the creditors, the Llangollen Railway, won't see a penny of it.

 

Doesn't sound very good, Does this actual owner who purchased the coach have the bill of sale from BR when it was originally purchased , or further receipts if it has changed hands since. with out these and other paperwork, ownership can be very difficult to prove.

On TV programs like ‘Can’t pay we’ll take it away’, when the bailiffs raid someone’s else, they assume everything in the house belongs to the debtor and can sell it to pay the debt. Only if someone else can prove ownership of items by showing receipts for purchase do they let that person have their item back.

Sounds like the receivers at Llangollen take the same approach. Everything belongs to the Plc unless you have proof of ownership?

 

It's rather different in a private dwelling. One would be on reasonable grounds assuming stuff in a person's house belongs to them unless evidence suggests otherwise. Not so on a commercial site where two or more companies operate.

 

Who is currently suing re: engineering work? Is 4160 doing so - note their loco has moved away. In any case, unsecured creditors are at the back of the queue and unlikely to get paid very much.
