    So THAT'S what really happened to 46202 after the Harrow crash! She was re-rebuilt to LMS ex-works condition and stored for a rainy day.
    It's all so obvious really, innit?
    Was this Tony absolutely sure that the LNER engine wasn't a next in class A2/2? Named Cock and Bull o' the North, perhaps

    Thanks for the info Martin. It is an interesting site.
    With regard to the Wapping tunnel ventilation chimneys, a photograph of the one in Crown Street goods yard is shown. There is also one still in existance in Blackburne Place, nearer the city centre. This is a very large rectangular brick structure. It is quite impressive.

    I think I remember that from years back (used to drink in 'The Cracke' just down the road)!! Visible in the centre of this aerial view.
