Well a mixed day is probably the best way to describe today... Managed to get up to Mallaig just in time for the depature back to FW, the sun was out and hardly a cloud in sight, managed to capture 45231 in a selection of location. Got back, had lunch and went back out looking for locations and broke the car... So i'm now stuck in Banavie without a proper method of transport... So i'm waiting for my dad to drive all the way up from Leeds to fix my car (hopefully) over night so i'm ready to go chasing again in the morning...

Today's afternoon locations include: Mallaig, Cuildarrach, Loch Nan Umbh Viaduct, Ranochan, Approaching Glenfinnan, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Dail Liath, Banavie Swing Bridge & Fort William Primary School.

We are producing a special DVD based around last year's and this year's footage of 'The Jacobite'.

I've uploaded images from today's clips, and will upload a selection of clips at the end of the week.

Well I managed today after my Dad arrived at 4am this morning to fix the car... Somebody had been a bit vicious with the hand brake and pulled it far too hard causing something to go wrong in the back drivers wheel brake bit... :confused

Anyway, another enjoyable day but no sun unfortunately. Again 45231 in service. I've uploaded the photos to the website with the footage available on Jacobite DVD

Today's locations include: Corpach, departing away from Glenfinnan, Beasdale, Beoraidbeg Hill, Glasnacardoch, Larichmore Viaduct, Loch Eilt, Glenfinnan, Corpach Station, Fort William Station, Fort William Yard.

Hand brakes invariably work on the rear wheels only...

If you're on a low income, get yourself a Haynes manual and learn how to do it yourself. By the sounds of things, your dad should be able to show you the basics. When you've more money, you can send it to the garage if you don't like getting dirty, but the knowledge you've gained will help you to understand what the garage are on about and not get ripped off. Well worth knowing the basics of car maintenance.

I had said I would just take it into the garage, but it was gone 8pm when the problem occured whilst looking for photo locations, I had tried having a look at the problem myself but I couldn't do it (didn't have the correct tools). But as my Dad knew I was going filming in the morning he said he would just come up so I didn't have the lack of transport to do the filming. And yes Martin, I will be treating him a little ;).

Another rather enjoyable day today, despite the low clouds and drizzle. Oh and been bit to death up at Glenfinnan Viaduct...

I've uploaded photos today, and also a video clip of 45231 passing Loch Dubh this afternoon, I was quite surprised as to what you could see when climbing over the hill at the side of road... As with all this week's footage it'll be available on The Jacobite DVD.

Today's locations include: Glenfinnan Viaduct, departing Glenfinnan, Loch Nan Umbh Viaduct, Beoraidbeg Bridge, Kinloid, Loch Dubh, Cairn, Annat, Loch Eil, Fort William cemetery.

One final full day tomorrow, followed by the outward trip on Friday allowing me plenty of time to get back for the Middleton Railway on Saturday & Sunday...
