Might go to Miles Platting or Diggle for the outbound.

Cant make my mind up on this one, really tempted by the thought of her pounding up Miles platting, but i wonder, if the plan is similiar to last Decembers York Yuletides, then might a Castleton water stop be on the cards ? If it is then two outbound shots are do-able and theres some belting Calder Valley shots on my wish list !

    We need those times !!!!!

On the basis this tour is repeat of the Yuletides, I suspect the timings will be very similar in the circumstances, see: -

Looking at those outline timings it may be taking water at Eccles, 1 hour 20mins St Helens to Man Vic... I think Stephenson's Rocket would have been a bit quicker...

I'm off work this Sunday so will hopefully be linesiding this one.

    Neil.

Just a thought, I wonder if there will be the 47 on the back. I do not have access to WCRC operational details, but chances are it could be 47, stock and 46115 on the back down to Lime Street, with the reverse in the evening. Whether the 47 is left at Liverpool remains to be seen.

You all may have read in a current magazine that 46115 Scots Guardsman is expected to take the identity of 46168 'The Girl Guide' for the trip. Nameplates have been ordered by Procast, and are to be raffled on the train supposedly. The reason for the brief rebirth of the identity is that somewhere around 250 guides are joining the train before being presented 'transport badges' at York.

The train is being split into two halves coaches A -D for the paying punters, coach E is the Buffet and coaches F,G,H,J are I understand 4 X 64 seater TSO's for the guides. With a support coach that makes load 10. Timngs I have seen are Liverpool 0918 /2118, St Helens Jn., 0957 / 2052, water at Eccles 10xx / 10xx & 19xx /20xx Man Vict 1112 /1939, Rochdale 1138 /1917, water Milford both directions, York 1353 / 1658. Seems a long time though Rochdale to York in both directions.

Also seems strange to water at Milford, which is less than 20 miles from York.

Looks like it is going through Dewsbury and Leeds after all - and the Leeds time is exactly the same as the Yuletides! Seems 8A Rail's speculation was more accurate than the RTC website!

The uksteam website has it going to SCARBOROUGH, and the timings have the loco moves as 45407, obviously using 'the yuletide' timings to save time, although scarborough is not on the times and it notes that its running as 46168 Girl Guides, Hmm, a photo opertunity not to be missed.

If only i lived a little closer and not having plans already for tomorrow, i would love to have made the trip north to see her in her new identity for the day. Look forward to viewing the photos on Sunday that will be posted throughout the duration of tomorrow. I havent seen the forecast, but i hope you all get some good weather!
