    Could'n't help but notice the wealth of Rolling Stock - clearly not in service parked at Carnforth the other Day.
    I expect that most of this is 'strategic reserve' for WCR but i couldnt help noticing a couple of interesting vehicles ( including one on 6 wheel bogies) which looked Pre BR MK1. Does any one have an insight into these interesting vehicles ?

    Please no criticism of WCR here...

    I remember back in the 1960s on the WCML some dining cars were on 6 wheel bogies, but I think they might have been ex LMS, could be wrong though.

    Thanks for that. In an ideal world more of these GEMS some of these would be undercover,and no doubt the ill fated Hellifield shed project would have helped with that...

    A-lot-of-of,Mr-Smiths--stuff-at-Carnforth-appears-to-have-been-robbed-for-spares-presumably-to-support-the-operation-fleet,There-is-an-LMS-6-wheeled-SLF-there-as-well,-not-sure-of-its-current-state-though.-which-interested-me.

    Its Current state is ' externally ' shabby. Though there are no items listed for sale by WCRC i cant help but think that the few Non Br Mk1-2/ Pullman stuff might be more welcome/ appreciated on a heritage site... but as most C&W departments seam to be at full stretch with existing projects without looking to buy in others.
