I may be able to assist there... although it was 1984!

The boiler fund is making spectacular progress. Six figures already. Well done.

What an amazing pattern that is for the Pony truck. That must be one of the most complex patterns commissioned in the preservation era.

Love the poster, just shown it to my good lady and she wants a copy for our new kitchen, what a fantastic piece of art in 2D. The pony truck in 3D's not bad either...

Absolutely concur with Matt37401's comments above. The poster is a must for me too! This is going to be such a good little loco and 2015 is going to be a good year for progress all being well too.

Very pleasing to see so many positive responses to 82045s welcome and continued progress, both here and on the 'next new build thread'.

The fundraising side of the project, which has been so successful continues with an additional fund raising event being organized by a small group of 82045 members, plus the Station Master at Eardington station..'The Eardington Explorer' departs Bridgnorth at 11.00 on 17th April 2015. The journey is a return Hampton Loade and with a stop, at the unused since the 1980s Eardington station, for an hour of organized 'jollies' (including sales of the much admired poster described above). The train celebrates 50 years of the SVR, and looks towards the next 50 years with 82045.

All profits from the days many events will go towards 82045s boiler appeal. Further details can be seen in 82045s November update.

They seem like a great team. I've just had a complimentary copy of the poster for winning the competition to come up with a caption for it, and also a calendar to boot. Nice gesture and much appreciated - it'll look great framed in my summer house. Really looking fwd to seeing her in the flesh, so to speak. I do like a BR Standard and if I wasn't already helping to prop up the Std 4 Soc and the Clan project I'd chip in too.

82045: ALL ABOARD THE EARDINGTON EXPLORER!
Following last summer’s spectacular parachute jump by SVR engineers Will Marsh and Gary Williams to raise funds for 82045’s boiler, another interesting fund-raiser for the project takes place on Friday 17th April with the running of special train The Eardington Explorer between Bridgnorth and Hampton Loade. The train will also celebrate 50 years of preservation on the Severn Valley Railway.
For a classic Great Western ensemble the 82045 Trust have hired 1935-built Collett 0-4-2 tank 1450 for the day, hauling three GWR “toplight” coaches which date from the early years of the last century. One of the trio, 3930, will be celebrating its 100th birthday in 2015, the other two being 103 and 92 years old!
As in the early days of preservation, there will be a stop at Eardington on the return trip, giving a rare opportunity to travel by steam to a station - oddly enough, the only one on the Railway to have been built by the GWR (in 1868) - which has not featured in the SVR timetable since 1982. On this occasion, as no other timetabled services are running, the stop will be protracted in order to allow passengers to enjoy a variety of nice jollies and to explore a little-known gem: if your only impression of Eardington is derived from a passing glimpse en route to Kidderminster or Bridgnorth, you will be pleasantly surprised to see what a lovely job Station Master Steve Downs and his gang have made of it.
Organised by a small group of 82045 working members led by Bryan Clarke, and assisted by Steve,The Eardington Explorer offers an unusual and relaxing day out. In addition to the train journey, there will be an opportunity to make a guided shed visit at Bridgnorth; a photographic run-past and (subject to approval) the chance to ride on 1450’s footplate. For those who enjoy the odd sherbet, there will be an on-train bar, while a raffle will be held to win the GWR-style headboard and - thanks to the generosity of one of the team - passengers who like a flutter could win £100 cash for a fiver! The train departs from Bridgnorth at 11.00, returning not later than 14.30. On the return journey, the little engine will have to work hard to get its load underway on the rising 1 in 100 gradient of Eardington Bank, so some sharp acoustic effects can be anticipated.
Tickets, priced £19-65 (reflecting the year the SVR was formed) can be obtained from Bryan Clarke, Oak Tree House, Love Lane, Bridgnorth WV16 4HD. Please send Bryan a cheque made payable to The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust and with your address written on the back. Alternatively, you can send cash (we will give you your change on the day!), in which case please don’t forget to supply your contact details. A schedule of the day’s proceedings, together with a a souvenir Edmondson ticket, will be sent out to all passengers by mid-March.

My poster arrived today. Every bit as good as I expected; it's a lovely work of art and the style is straight out of the early BR era of travel posters. If you like railway artwork and BR Standards you all really need to buy one!
