You win some, you lose some. But at least you got to the right place at the right time. Staying at home in the warm having another coffee would have seen no hope of getting anything at all.

 

One can only try and capture well the actual scene, and that you did admirably. Nothing wrong with it at all.

 

And here, in just the right place at just the right time (a matter of yards and seconds between shot and no shot) is '09 appearing out of the gloom at Elstree.

 

North end of the platform and you would have been well and truly bowled.

No shock really with a load equal to 15 coaches.
Sadly you have to remember that nowdays it is a performance based railway with TDA and the financial costs associated with it.
