Our tour programme through October 2015 will be available online at www.vintagetrains.co.uk on Saturday 17th January. The physical brochures should be arriving in mailboxes around the same time.

We have worked very hard to keep the fares down. The majority of Standard fares are 79.00 with a few shorter trips such as the Valentines as low as 49.00.

If you have not signed up for our email newsletter, I strongly suggest you do so at www.vintagetrains.co.uk/newsletter. You will receive notification of any new tours and updates to existing.

If you are not already aware, we occasionally offer passenger seats on locomotive trial runs around our East Midlands Circle. These runs are not listed in the brochure (for obvious reasons). I know of 3, possibly 4 planned trial runs in 2015. Sign up for the newsletter to receive details when they become available.

    Regards

    Ben - VT

Ben , many thanks for this

observations , some interesting tours and as always looking forward to the Shakespeare Express . I'm guessing 46233 will guest at the open day in June as the following weekend is the Welsh Marches tour with it . Probably a very brave question but would you consider inviting 45699 and 46115 for an open day given that both engines spent time at Tyseley ?

Does a Tyseley locomotive mean any locomotive that is based at your location? If a tour says Loco tba? I would guess that several steamers are going to be tested on the circuit.

We have a few to choose from....we haven't decided which one to use yet for various operational reasons. I think it is preferable to promoting a specific loco then showing up with another?

When we know 100% we will announce it, but it will be something based at Tyseley.

Presume you have plans for the Panniers later in the season.

What a superb line up, and yet again makes me wish I still lived in the West Midlands.

Vintage Trains have become the benchmark for railtour standards in my opinion, and this collection seems set to raise the bar yet further, :)

Particularly intrigued by these words in the description for the Welsh Marches in September :-

"a second opportunity to travel the Welsh Marches, only this time behind ONE OF Tyseley’s own copper-topped, double chimney ex-GWR Castles."

Does this mean there's a possibility 7029 will be in charge of this train, or am I simply reading too much into it ?

Agree. Although to be near a VT starting point wherever that may be is the criterion!

Any clues to the trial run called the city of New Orleans? I can guess what the other 2 trips will be loco wise?

Ah, that's interesting, I didn't think to look at that. Maybe the wording to which I referred, which came from the email newsletter, was prepared with the possibility of 7029 being available, a possibility which presumably no longer exists.

    Let me offer a quote from my favorite movie;

"Look Jack, I'm a politician. I'm a liar and a cheat, and when I'm not kissing babies, I'm stealing their lollipops. But it also means I keep my options open....."

For the Poole trip, is the pickup at Oxford likely to be compatible with a service train from Paddington?

Oxford pick-ups can sometimes be problematic. A couple of years ago, Steam Dreams had to swap a mid-week Oxford pick-up for Tackley and Radley. Hopefully, with the VT trip being on a Saturday, they won't have this problem.

Ben, some good trips there, but my only gripe is why do you not give an outline departure and return time, as all other operators do, it makes it difficult to plan if a trip is possible to get to with out this basic info.
