...and then put back on after the overhauled boiler is reunited with the frames and steam tested! :D

I'd love to see the Danish pacific at Railworld Peterborough running, plus it would give the NVR a loco that actually matches their DSB stock.

Indeed what with Duchess of Sutherland in steam the NRM wouldn't be resteaming 6229 Duchess of Hamilton in "unstreamlined" form. Which is a view/statement they's made with several other locomotives they have that duplicate other survivors [OK I know they've restored Deltic KOYLI to running order and there other Deltics in running order]. But did say they might reconsider if the engine was ever restreamlined. So why not it makes her look quite different to Sutherland and Birmingham. It also gives folk the chance to see the LMS's and [reluctantly] Staniers' idea of streamlining compared to the LNER's and Gresleys' A4.........

That GNR 4-4-2 Atlantic would be a cool one.

I was thinking about Henry Oakley but either one would be fine. I just think that having a 4-4-2 in steam would be cool and different. There aren't that many in the world and they were great locomotives prior toward the 4-6-2's showing up.

990 was steamed back in the seventies and ran at the Stockton & Darlington 150 do at Shildon, and for a couple of years on the Worth Valley before being re-retired to the now National Railway Museum at York

Fingers crossed then! As I've mentioned on the Boness thread the humble 0-6-0 goods engine is a rather unsung hero so more power to anyone who's trying to do somthing about it.

GCR 567, it will be a while yet, but the day when the first fire goes in the box is getting nearer.

Well you've got Brighton Atlantic 'Beachy Head' edging closer to completion at the Bluebell Railway, and Didcot's new-build GWR Saint 2999 'Lady of Legend' is being built to be easily switched between 4-6-0 and 4-4-2 mode. Beachy Head is probably the closest we'll ever get to an operational GN Atlantic.

41708 for me; perfect for our station pilot jobs at Swanage, and far more fun than a 350 shunter!
