WCME 28th Feb

Looking ahead to 28th February, I wonder whether this will run, as according to RTT there are no trains all day between Carlisle and Appleby.

Description Engineering work is taking place between Armathwaite and Carlisle closing the line. Buses replace trains between Ribblehead / Appleby and Carlisle.

 

Those are WTT paths Ralph, for every Saturday. Doesn't mean they'll run. You should know that ;-)

 

So, will the WCME, be cancelled ?

 

The Hadrian is on 7th March. It is a WCME on 28th Feb.

 

If you read the rules of the route however, you'll often find that the blockade information usually comes coupled with 'Possession to be given up for passage of *1Q54* & 6z54', implying that the paths booked for test trains and tampers/infrastructure are assumed to run and track gangs aware to give up the blockade for their passage only, and then reinstate after.

 

Oh dear, booked this week on the 28th run.

 

Same here. Hopefully we can switch dates !

 

Sadly there aren't many dates to choose from, with the 14th and 21st runs also cancelled.

 

Hopefully, the 7/2/15 If possible. Or maybe the Cumbrian Coast, in March. Hopefully there's still seats available.

 

It's already routed via Shap on the outward leg. The train in question is the WCME not Hadrian as thread title suggests! (not my thread by the way)

I'm also booked on this date. E-mail sent to RYTC to find out what the alternative arrangements are.

 

I am thinking that the Duchess would be out of gauge for the Coast Route.

 

Have spoke to RTC, who say, they have no idea about the scheduled engineering work, on the 28th.

 

Hardly surprising.
