Many years ago I took a photo of an Esso GE 44 tonner loco, Unfortunately did not record where or when, think it may have been Lakeside. Have not been able to trace it has it been scrapped or is it still about.Has anyone got any information about it.? j peg_NEW.jpg

I am almost certain that it was at Carnforth, I remember it shunting up there when we painted 850 in about 1981. It was even referred to as Esso.

    p/wayman vindt dit leuk.

It was Carnforth, then moved on in a clear out of stock to a new preservation home where it was subsequently scrapped.

That will be Canadian Pacific's tender

As for the date of scrapping of the GE diesel, it will have been around 2001-2 I seem to recall

From uklocos.com, it appears that "Esso" was GE works no 30483/1949, and went to Chasewater circa 2003, then to CF Booth for scrap in May 2005, being cut up later that year.
