    Nice loco.

    A few facts:
    - According to O&K delivery list it was delivered together with a sister to Ammonium Ltd., Natal in January 1914. A 40 hp coalburner with 2 ft (610 mm) gauge.

    - From my personal experience a six coupled O&K locomotive has a remarkably smoother riding than a corresponding four coupler with the same weight and wheel base.

    - 35 k GBP seems to be very much standard price for a steam locomotive in reasonable condition. Negotiable of course, depending on market interest.

    - A few figures from the O&K standard data sheet (but for the earlier standard, could differ slightly):
    Cylinders 185 x 300 mm
    Wheel dia. 580 mm
    Wheel base 1400 mm
    Weight empty 6900 kg
    Weight in service 8500 kg
    Grate area 0.35 m2
    Heating surface 14.5 m2
    Length over frame 4.45 m
    Width 1.7 m
    Height 2.85 m

    That is good news, but also a shame... Had been working on my Wife to let me buy it. Think another couple of months of me continually mentioning it would have seen her cave and give in just to shut me up!!! Mind you finding the money to overhaul it as well would have taxed my initiative!
