Alternative way to get to Bury by public transport may be train to Bolton, then bus to Bury, goes right past Bolton Street station with a stop outside.

 

For those hardy soles wanting to brave the elements and travel on a brake van the you can for just £5...

I think we are going to opt for that as it is likely to have greater certainty and we have advanced tickets to /from the south. Every 20 mins Piccadilly to Bolton and then Worstbus 471 every 10 mins and it passes the door at Bolton Street

While it may not be out at the weekend, Swiftsure was plodding about Bury today.

 

Our friends at the Met-office suggest heavy snow day for all day Saturday, but good clear day for Sunday with some sunshine. I guess that dictates which is the riding day!

 

5643 has been in steam today.............. Sounds well!

For anyone who are thinking of driving to the Elr today. The roads are currently clear but frosty. Please be careful.

 

The M6 is also clear and roads all around are fine. Enjoy the weekend folks.

Top performances today, from locos & crews !! Roads were a nightmare this morning ! Had to get out and push. Trains ran to time and looked reasonably busy, which was good to see, considering the weather ! Video to follow.
