BR liveries all the way from my perspective, and this is from someone who wasn't even around then. Isn't 30850's current livery an incorrect hybrid between Maunsell and Bulleid liveries in any case? Anyway, as the last post suggests, back to Bulleids. No news on 35027, but I presume it's priority has slipped now 60532 has been given the go-ahead as the next one into the shops.

With 35027 isn't Jeremy Hosking supposedly trying to decide what to do in regards to finishing her overhaul.

Bury has other projects in front of it (45212 and 4472 for example) and not sure how much has been done to her since she moved up that way, apart from getting 35005's tender (not sure how much work was done before she left Southall either).

Crewe has a good catalogue of work lined up with some of Hosking's other locos so would have to wait there as well.

Given all the frothing over coats of paint, I for one would like to see 21C107 in original livery with "go faster" stripes, next time round................... :)

Would the fine chap prefer Southern or British Railways on the tender?

To go with the coaching stock, there is only one option - BRITISH RAILWAYS......... ;) It would be purfick! :)

Heck, I'd even come & give Ollie a hand to paint her......... if Saturdays could be arranged..... but........ :Morewaitingisrequired:

Both 4472 and 45212 should be done this year though...

Quite so and although Port Line isn't at Crewe, even if it were then it would have to stand in line...and behind Clan Line.

Gets my vote. IIRC that was the intention originally but things changed along the line somewhere.

Dave, Sir W was at Alresford station for 3 or 4 hours this morning whilst being loaded up, not exactly a camera-free zone....specially those pesky portable telephonic devices with built in optical recording systems. Did ave an interesting discussion regarding BB and WC cab window surrounds and wind defelctors though, and an ex-Salisbury fireman turned up who had often crewed on 34051, the last time being in 1960 (and no, I wasn't born then Dave)

    Steve,

I wasn't referring to today...... and as Siquelme hasn't quantified when and where the image was taken....... it makes you wonder......

Just hoping one of the railway magazines puts a full double page photo of 34051 at York.

I was sent a link to the photo earlier Dave - in the cattle dock/loading point and definitely today.

It's annoying as I didn't want to see WC until the 34051 display opened at York (was going to be heading up on it's first day).

But I agree with previous comments about 34051... it looks bloomim' good! :)

Thanks for clearing that up James! :)

If it had been from last week the brown stuff would have hit the fan.........

I'm surprised she wasn't wrapped up like they did with the A4's, given all the work that's been put in, and the "obvious" desire to keep things under wraps until the unveiling.... ahem.....
