I just thought I draw attention to a project I kick started in Poland with Polish friends of mine, in around 1997. The museum has grown, mostly thanks to a friend, who bought TKp4422, and paid to overhaul it in Pyskowice. It's OOA now, but in the time 4422 was working, a TKh and Ty42 have been returned to service. More engines are in the pipeline.

They had quite a fight to get started, I believe even just recently PKP were trying to evict them from the shed.
Meanwhile that guy on the Katowice line, whom was slowly scrapping the locos he was supposed to be care taking finally had them removed from him and some ended up at Pyskowice.

Theres still a fair few steam locos scattered to the winds around Poland, unfortunately many are Barryesque, but taking the Katowice - Przemysl route for instance, theres the 52 at Katowice Station, 3-4 steam locos dumped on Krakow Pleszow shed, 1 in the town centre, 1 at Tarnow and 1 at Przeworsk... similar story across the country.

Pity the ol49 at Lublin got cut, went for £4k to a scrappie.

Yes the short arsed scrapper Mr R. turned out my friends in Pyskowice, and I had to go back to Pyskowice in 2002 to get rid of him, with the help of some big Polish lads I knew, who were part of the local Mafia. They explained to him in much better Polish than mine, but they never said much to him, that coming back to Pyskowice, could be dangerous to his health. He called the Police, who turned up, but the police escorted him away, which was funny, and not me and my friends. We were clearly in the wrong, but we had the might! And who has might, has the day. Never saw him again, but he did try his trick again by setting up a museum on the North coast, but I called the local admin, and he was booted out.
