Me too. I was at home in Wokingham and it is only a 30 minute drive over to Windsor. Problems with 4037, 5050, 5081, 5098, 7022 and 7029 (all ex Hornby Dublo "Denbigh Castle locomotives) took my eye off the ball and it was too late to go there before I realised the time. Roll on the weekend when I can see her around Guildford.

Thanks for that. I guess that was the one that I recall then. I think I have my old Ian Allen books somewhere to confirm what I did see.

My video is now online - crossing the Stour at Catterwade, speeding through Ingatestone and at Ealing Broadway on the ECS.

The thing that strikes me the most about this vid is the general reaction of the public, just about all of them reach for their phones/cameras and change their position on the platform to witness her passing.
It just goes to show the amount of interest that a steam locomotive can generate.
Big thanks to everyone who has contributed to getting her back where she belongs on the mainline.

Some wonderful videos and photos and many thanks to all contributors. Its like a NEW engine has hit the road and I'm looking forward to seeing her on March 1st pulling away from Twyford. Plenty more interest and camera usage in the meantime !!!

    Your not wrong there!

But mines slightly different, by a quirk of fate, a stubborn flat wheel that refused to be changed until I called the AA, after cadging a lift with a mate who I knew was going out for this, I got chatting with the AA man & showed him the images on the camera, so say he was jealous is an understatement - and he's into the combustion engine, not kettles!

I can't believe it was only last night when I saw her move over the crossing at Sheringham to get her back onto the mainline. Now she is in all of these amazing videos. Credit to the staff and volunteers that worked on her so hard over Christmas to get her fit again to do this today, and to the cleaners that spent the weekend getting her looking amazing again. Just wish I had more time available to have helped out last weekend and do my little bit.

A quick video from last night.

Gresley Centenarian on the same date. The LCGB Fells and Dales ran in parallel with the LNER Society Gresley Centenarian. Same combination of locos but on different sections of course.

I have loved this engine for awhile This was a great day for many fans and people who worked hard to prepare to get her out and on the road again.

Looks like everyone was so exhausted by the outwards leg, no-one went out to look at the return.
