No wires up yet. But for those who saw BBC South news last night, you'd think that the whole plan is in deep peril and who knows when it will be done. OR is that BBC doom doom doom again ??? !!

Seems every time they do anything they put all the signals out. Almost an everyday occurrence.

Not sure about Ray Churchill, he could be on Tangmere from Southal to Bristol that day.

Would anyone care to hazard a guess about whether the loco will still have steam on passing Gatcombe and Purton on the outward trip? Will the driver have shut off for the stop at Lydney by then?

I'd guess it's have shut off by then.

Edit: yeah, just checked my Clan Line video, no smoke to be seen.

Mark, you might get away with it at, Gatcombe, but, Purton, they might be easing off. It's also downhill through there, at 1\198 & 1\264.

I was at Gatcombe when it was Clan Line, and it was coasting... It's not very far at all to Lydney, and it'll probably be really crowded :/

It's not downhill between Gatcombe and Purton. The line runs along a high wall next to the Severn estuary.
The downhill sections are from Bullo Pill to the Awre Jct area (1 in 316) and for the final 1.5 miles into Lydney.
