We've been told by Scott's that they have a Slave unit and its just in storage either way we don't really need the slave unit they was powerful locos without them fairly normal to see them pull 40 loaded peat wagons without a problem.

We now own these two Schoma CHL-60G locos and slave units that use to work in the area.

Well done William, they are two very sound machines, glad to see that they are returning "home" at last. Please keep us up to speed with events.

    Cheers

    William,
Good to hear. You seem to have a nice storage facility for them.

For record purposes, did they arrive on the 14th? If not, when? And are there two or three "slave" units?

    Thanks

    Ken

They arrived on the 10th I've only just got round to making a post about them :) There is all 3 slave units but 1 of them is very much in bits, we have all the parts from what I can see.

We assessed the locos today it was decided that 5129 will be restored first, the wheels are going to be swapped with slave unit No.5132 as the current wheels have some deep double flanging on one side of the loco. The engine cover is going to be removed and have any dents buffed out, the engine is going to be all cleaned up and one of the hydraulic filters needs checking as it appears to be leaking only a small amount though. The cab is going to have some work as the wood inside is rotting a bit and the ceiling has a hole in it, general clean up and repaint, new windows, cab hand rails etc..

Going to be restored to its Alan Keef Rebuilt state with engine panel covers instead of doors and a few other bits.. All should start in a month or so! IMG_5395[1].JPG
