Seeing the image of 1054 having a drink at HY, am I right in thinking there's no reverse-osmosis plant there?

Came over the Friday, the prospect of a 57xx was too tempting to miss! Had an excellent day L92 did not disappoint, SKP on the shuttle was good to see and the WD and 42 seemed to really fit in. Just one question, could the Hampton Loade shuttle not run non-stop to Highley and de-train there instead of stopping HL? Whilst it is a lovely station, there is more going on at Highley and so if riding this shuttle there's not a lot to do come your second layover. Noticed it ran onto Highley ECS, well if operated as a non-stop service it'll still take the same time but it'll arrive earlier, and so the de-training time could be utilised at Highley instead. Just a thought?

It ran to Highley non-stop, but never made it to a platform. The platform would have a service train going to Hampton Loade in it.

Was the little railway running in HL? That's always fun to look at.

The diesel gala timetable works a lot better in this respect. Full line workings, and shuttles between Kidderminster-Bewdley, so no messing around shunting in and out of loops and sidings at Arley or Highley.

I guess they do this in steam galas so that they can run short branch-line-style trains with locos that would struggle to do a whole run without taking on water. You wouldn't need that in a diesel gala.

Thanks to all at the railway who worked so hard to make the gala a success.

    Cheers,

No it didn't, it stopped at Hampton Loade to de-train before heading off ECS.
I just wondered, if it didn;t stop at HL would there be enough time for it to get to Highley & detrain, before the next KR-BH service arrived into HY? If not fine, it's just a suggestion of something I picked up from my visit this time around. Whilst the Paddock Railway is very nice and the station beautifully restored, there is more to see and do at Highley.

Anyone happen to know what the motivation was of the young chap at the vestibule window immediately behind 1054 waving a presumably replica smokebox numberplate for 44767 out of the window? A spoiler for the photographers maybe?

I was wondering much the same thing! Out to troll everyone it seems, although I didn't see him again after Arley so who knows what happened to him or his number plate after!

There was a report on West Midlands news that a young man had been admitted to Kidderminster hospital with a number plate shoved up his backside.
