After various trials and tribulations I will shortly be in possesion of one of those lovely 82045 posters. I'd just like to say a big thankyou to Barbara for really going above and beyond her remit in getting it to me, with people like her with such a fantastic can do attitude this one can't fail. Thanks again Mrs M your a real trooper. Really can't wait for the day the image in the poster becomes a reality.

Thank you Matt, you are very kind. I am not giving up complaining to the carrier and I doubt I will use them again. Hope your poster looks great.

    Best regards, Barbara

Just a quick thank you to everybody who supported 'The Eardington Ex...plorer' in whatever way at all on April 17th. The general consensus was a good day was had by all - can't do better than that ! Thank you everyone.

I had a day out with 82045 and The Eardington Explorer. It was a brilliant experience, 82045, Eardington and Hampton Load stations all contributed with splendid individual and unique displays. The Train formation was exceptional, and the atmosphere and sense of something special was evident all day - smiling faces, with plenty of banter. Excellent value, hope the boiler fund has a few extra pounds in its account.

Looking forward to a repeat ?

"As 82045 starts to look more and more like a loco, we think that interest in the project, already sizzling, will continue to rise." Indeed it will, what an excellent project. Thanks for the update link minty4371; an uplifting read as always!

2015-05-15 22.48.50.jpg Not up in the kitchen yet but 82045 has its first double header! The little fella with his head sticking out is my little chap named Chopper (named after one of my favorite EE designs!) The more I keep looking at this the more excited I am about it!

82045 is coming together nicely, this would be a great class for small batch building.

Great to see the smokebox wrapper sitting in its saddle. More good progress.

It is always exciting and a sign of positive progress to see the steadily growing number of additions to 82045s chassis. What is probably more telling about the build quality however, is that the wrapper appears to fit perfectly onto the saddle, and the large diameter front ring, which one must assume is an interference fit, has been fitted by the team in what looks like a car park !

There is a discussion on 82045s fb page about the loco being kept in the great outdoors and not under cover, although little mention is made about 'fresh air' engineering.

How fortunate are those new build groups that have their loco under cover. Talk about succeeding against all the odds !
