    Depends on your circumstances and motive power IMO, if your a west country branch with Swindon machines then choc n cream is probably preferred, likewise green at Swanage, if you have plenty of late BR steam and diesels like the Lancs then Blue n Grey is fine.

    Personally I'd prefer a pre 1948 rake, but that option isn't open to more than a handful of lines.

    Intercity looked smart on just about everything, can't see it being big on a heritage line anytime soon mind, one for when a HST set enters private hands I reckon.

    As I said it was bloody awful...I think most of that set went off to start off Riviera Trains.

    One found it's way into Tyseley's first railtour set when it was still a mis mash of newly aquired MK2's and hired WCRC Mk1's in the late 90's, remember thinking "what the ****'s that ?!" as it passed me on 9600's first loaded sortie on NR.
