Careful , we do not know what the terms of the lifting are , secondly don't forget the ORR are still in play with a notice to revoke the licence and may yet trump Network Rail (hoping they don't)

Is there any official source to confirm this? Nothing on WCRC website. RAIL Has an article online dated yesterday which says NR is refusing to lift the suspension, but it appears this is based on info' provided by NR at the end of April.

Or maybe Monday, according to that RTT link.

44871 and 45407 have kept the NYMR going in recent weeks, including yesterday. I'm slightly surprised they could up and go almost overnight. Even Monday looks very soon, but more likely than today I suspect.

Indeed. They might have made a special case for The Jacobite. That would make some sense - a test case for WCRC's new arrangements, perhaps?

Well, at least 50% of those locos did end up at Pickering last night, so if the move this morning was to be activated, it must have been planned to be the K1. Nothing on RRT yet.

    Steven

EDIT: That will teach me not to check the website first!

    http://www.nymr.co.uk/

Scroll down - all THREE Jacobite locos in use at some point today - which is not that surprising, as the K1 is, I understand, booked to do an LNERCA special tomorrow which starts from Pickering, so will presumably end up at New Bridge tonight.

No I am not on that, firstly because I have covered the S&C in some detail in the last two articles and second because I am footplating on the Mid Hants line on that day

Looks promising. 2 new senior managers, including a new head of safety and a new non-exec director. Also mentions a "phased return of services", so it may be several months before we get a full programme. Looks like the earlier suggestion that The Jacobite is a test case may be correct.

Hmm... given the RH article, and what we know about the locos' duties on the NYMR, that tweet looks a little optimistic. They might run with a DL on Monday 11th, and they might have steam later in the week... unless they're taking 48151 or 45231 with the ECS at the weekend??

Text of letter above - my embolding .....

Revocation of Suspension Notice I can confirm that as you have now satisfactorily addressed all of the actions we set out in our Suspension Notice of 1st April we will lift the suspension of your Track Access Contracts1. The Suspension Notice will be revoked in accordance with Clause 2.5.4 of Schedule 6 of the Track Access Contracts, with effect from 00.01 on Friday 8th May 2015. We welcome the commitment West Coast Railways has made to improving safety management; the changes to your Safety Management System (SMS); and the three new roles (Director/General Manager, Head of Safety and Non-Executive Director) being introduced to strengthen safety leadership and corporate governance. We note your appointment before services recommence of your new Non-Executive Director and Alex McGregor of Lloyds Register as interim Head of Safety pending the permanent appointment; and for the ongoing engagement of First Class Partnerships to ensure that changes to the SMS are implemented effectively. We recognise and welcome that you intend to put in place a phased return of services, to allow you and your most experienced staff to implement your new procedures before use with a wider range of services. We look forward to working closely with you and your new leadership team. This will include reviewing with you in three months the progress made by you in working within your new governance structure and Safety Management System. I am copying this letter to your Company Secretary and to Ian Bertram at ORR. Yours sincerely
    Paul McMahon
    Director, Freight

So maybe the Jacobite is being used as a probation case. Fingers crossed that VT are next and we get to Llandudno for the airshow on the 23rd.
