    on 25-3-98 1264 ran north over shap with 75014 following very close behind, both returning south together for a night time spark arrester test.

    I read the "stay in your seat" edict as only applying between Carlisle and Maryport, where there is a real danger of decapitation due to exceedingly tight clearances through over bridges. Possibly OTT but perhaps understandable given the close ORR scrutiny, however comparison with requirements on the CFE or on an HST is surely irrelevant as they don't go that way.
