Maybe the window ban & vestibule enforcement is putting a few people off !

What window and vestibule ban is this then?

Also no sign yet of tickets in my inbox, somehow I don't feel confident that I will be getting a steam run this coming Saturday

I don't think a ban as such exists but people are clearly being discouraged from standing at the windows and more so, hanging out.

It is a pity if this continues because you only have to look over 34 years of mainline steam footage - as recently as March this year (You Tube is a good place to see this) and people looking out is part and parcel of a good steam day out. And yes, I think LMarsh 1987 could be right. I certainly would not wish to travel on a tour where I could not look out. My last trip in Kent with the Black 5's in Dececember enabled me to get some great footage from the Vestibule of the climb out of Dover. I am only one of hundreds in the UK who would echo my sentiments here.

Incorrect the rule has always been there, the difference now is that it is being more strictly enforced, in my opinion it's a small price to pay if it boiled down to no window hanging and main line steam continues unheeded vs window hanging and no main line steam. Given that scenario I know which I would take however that is a debate for the thread mentioned above really so I'll leave it there to stop this thread heading further off topic.....

Don't think Sapperton is that bad, I have a recording of 44932 romping up with 11 on.

    Cheers Dave

Sorry missed putting the loco number in.

The average is about 1 in 75 with a maximum of 1 in 60 iirc.

The final 5 miles from Brimscombe are steep and very twisty. Not an easy climb if the rail is damp and greasy. <BJ>

Any reason why? I guess the 60 limit between Worcester and Gloucester finding a pathing slot?

Take the info on RTT with a pinch of salt as it's related more to pathing purposes than the actual reality, 61306 can do 75MPH, nor is it taking 715 tons ;)

Mayflower looked and sounded great passing Charleton (near Evesham) this morning. Here's the video:
I'd not seen her before -what a great loco :)!
Lovely photo of it crossing that bridge - thanks for sharing!
