61306 Mayflower works The Cathedrals Express


On a very hot and quite blustery day, I find myself chasing after a very green Ex-LNER B1, Mayflower. First time I have ever seen a B1 (In person at least!). I started by heading for one of my favourite locations, Avoncliff, and waited for 61306 to pass. The high pitched whistle could be heard a mile or so out. After Mayflower had passed, I started putting my equipment back into my bag and turned to see 4 Colas Rail Class 70 Locos on a convoy, heading towards Westbury! Typical really as I had just taken my camera down.

Later in the day I headed for chippenham and hoped to get a good shot as 61306 thundered through. I was worried that she would crawl through at a snails pace due to the work you may be able to see at the end of the platform in the last clip, and also because there were TSR signs ahead of me. Neither of these things slowed Maytflower up as she roared past, blowing a young childs hat clean of thier head further up in the crowd!
