If so, please take a short moment to vote for the Watercress Line and their Mind the Gap project! The project provides a fantastic apprenticeship scheme for 14 young people to learn the skills and knowledge required to maintain steam engines and carriages, skills that may otherwise be lost in time. As a result of this scheme the railway are the only preserved line to become a finalist in the Best Heritage Project category of the National Lottery Awards. It is so important that we send a message to funders that such schemes are highly valued, so that more good work can continue at this and any other heritage line.
