Lovely shot. Shame you missed me flailing out of the window on the other side. ;) We hit the ton, or near enough, further north. 10mins early at Doncaster. Now going to sit in Doncaster south yard for 30 minutes (pathing?). Exciting stuff.

Only kidding. Think I was busy enjoying my complimentary coffee and crumpet at that point. Difficult to flail at the same time.

The White Rose? There'll be no petals left for Tornado to carry, merely the thorns.

The A1 is all clean and ready to go. Flags on the front in honour of Nicholas Winton. I'm on the engine to Retford. Looking forward to this run. Andy

Major signalling problem at Doncaster thanks to a lightning strike.

Virgin Trains EC have just piled 4 train loads of passengers on to one HST, which has ended about as well as one would expect.

    Expect delays on the return...

Oh dear. 1 late from York 48 late at Hambleton if I'm reading Real Time Trains right and if it's telling the truth. Other trains seem to be more or less on time.

It doesn't leave York for about another 10 mins.

Been advised by train manager onboard the 16:02 ex-York, we need to go on a detour to avoid the affected area.

Just turned right at Colton Jc, and saw the Cathedrals Express returning to York. Assume we're going via Sheffield, but I don't know the area overly well so could be mistaken.

EDIT: Sorry, meant Pontefract, not Sheffield! Don't know why I put Sheffield...
