MHR Restorations and Overhauls

Can anyone provide an update on the overhaul of 41312? Thanks.​

 

If anybodies interested - 4464 is rostered for the Weekend............ along with 925......... and there's a box type thingy,37324 rostered on Sunday in addition to the two steam service.

 

I'm certainly interested and will be along for the second Saturday running! I find A4s hard to resist.....

Was good to see you again last night Tim - hope you enjoyed the evenings bonus of not being trapped on the RAT. I made it home just before midnight!

In other news, from the Wagon Group........ the much anticipated (?) Cattle Van, is almost there, but not quite - pic is from yesterday, and its beginning to look the Mutt's. (apologies for the steps - I couldn't be ar_ed to move them......)

The final details for its launch, once confirmed, I'll release on here.

I would imagine he means Bittern!

Anyway, I've now put a small gallery from Saturday together........... interesting to see that 3 photters have produced three different images @Hampshire Unit was there as well as @LC2 ......... and we weren't that far from each other!......

Yes, Bittern in green was what I meant.
I haven't seen @Hampshire Unit 's shot, but I see what you mean, your shot was very different (mind you, it took a lot of work to produce something almost presentable from what I had).
I must do more of this escaping from working the bar and then hanging around to take photos.

The national lottery award was being promoted on the RAT at the weekend. Hopefully it's drummed up a few more votes for the " Mind The Gap apprenticeship project".

Click on his Flickr link in his signature - three completely different styles - OK, my shutter speed was slightly higher, and the ISO was a bit lower than Steve's, and a damn sight lower than yours! BUT I like to think mine are truer to the conditions..........

As for the Lottery nomination, it was also being highlighted on the Belle.and on Alresford station - though didn't notice it at Ropley........... And, yes you must do more to escape the shackles of the "Rottweiler"!!

I had been locked up in the Belle kitchen for nearly ten hours before I managed to escape and join you and LC2 a Ropley....it was hot in there! We had Lottery voting leaflets on each of the 24 tables with customers on

 

You should be - full stop Lol! and yes it were a tad warm in there - but unlike you, I was a tad over dressed........

Talking of the Lottery thingy - its interesting to see that other railways from across the country are getting behind us and encouraging their members & customers to vote for us - going from the face ache page & Tw_tter feed!

 

I have started to taking my daugther to every railway I visit, no can say no to a little blonde haired girl it seems

I see the wagon group has got itself some cargo for its new cattle wagon

 

Ah, yes, Daisy - she's been with us for a few weeks now, and she's pretty low maintenance as well............

 

Slightly off topic but- Is Wadebridge currently running with polished tyres? I have seen a couple of photos of it fairly recently and they look a bit like they are- really smart!

The loco was fitted with new tyres at the last restoration and they were never painted black. As far as whether they have recently been polished up, only the Ropley lads will know.

 

What's the current state of progress with the boiler overhauls of 76017 and 41312? I would have thought that if both locos are likely to see steam in their cylinders by the end of the year, a hydraulic and steam test can't be too far off and certainly in the case of the 2-6-0 the chassis has been ready to receive it's pressure vessel for some time.
