Surprised to see no mention of this run here as yet - have I missed something?

Indeed - this looks like a standard (and wrong) entry - whereas normally it would read as diesel locomotive timed for 75mph maximum and trailing load 455 tons. For some reason, 61306 always has 60mph shown as its timing max. speed, even though it's passed for 75mph.

I think that's to get the acceleration / braking profile about right for working out sectional times. It's discussed in the RTT sticky thread in this section.

Weather looks damn awful for this run. I was going to mooch around North Kent, can't be too many times that a B1 has been seen at Swale, (shame its not going over the lift bridge) but its not a pleasant place to be in the wind and rain!

Current weather forecast for early Sunday in Windsor is OK, going downhill after it's left. Unlike right now where the ducks are knocking on the door asking for umbrellas.

Ah well,at least the "fire risk" dragon is slain for the moment! Having said that I presume this one is guaranteed to have a diesel on the back?

UKsteam.info says so, for the turning move around the triangle between Gillingham and Swale.

Oh dear, thought yesterdays 70000 solo trip was too good to last!
Hark at the chug machine at the back smoking & revving away.
If it's there for shunt release that's all should do, nothing more.

Well done for braving the rain.

More noise from the 47 diesel at the back than the B1 on the front!

I rest my case as per my previous post. There for shunt release, should be shut down & dead at all other times.

And what about all the diesel gricers in the rear coaching wanting to hear the power of that diesel engine roaring away?

Please don't spoil their day for them. :)
