Thanks for the clip acw71000. 8 late away from Wigan, (late running Edinburgh,) 1 early into Blackburn. Steady climb to boars head, but sounded OK.

Cruised up Hoghton Bank, from 3L at Bamber Bridge to RT at summit. Looked and sounded superb. Diesel just ticking over .

Thanks for the vid. Presumably the guy climbing out of the window didn't have a ticket!

Doesn't help with the current spotlight being on main line steam. Not just a head from what I could see, a large part of the top body too. I feel that is somewhat selfish.

Nice video, partly spoiled for me by that behaviour.

Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the clip

Thanks Bryan, quite agree, very selfish, but sadly that is society today. I'm conjuring up an image of Ralph hauling him back in and giving him a stern talking to!

I agree, though he looks like a *Diner* its possible he is unaware of any issues or new safety regs.

RTC now include "Train Safety Information" on the back of their on train booklet, this includes, "Please do not lean out of windows". Maybe the stewards need to bring it to the attention of passengers or a diner may find that his next meal is in hospital - let's hope that scenario never happens. I'm sure that Ralph will ensure that this guy gets the message.

He's either unaware or just plain stupid! The people who really get my goat are the ones who usually ARE aware but insist on ignoring the warning notices and go down the ends of platforms etc., and get everyone else a bad name! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

Getting back on topic, today's southbound run, more restrained than last week so only the mid 40s over the summit.

One of my shots taken at Paythorne. Wind not favourable but at least a hint of sunlight.

Come on guys. We all know that the banning of folk standing at the window, shooting video footage from the window or just looking out with care, cannot be enforced. It is a recommendation only. The RTC notice is that seen in trains all over the UK including scheduled passenger services. It states "Please do not lean out of windows". They are not saying, "You are barred from leaning out Windows". It is a polite request in other words.

When I say "cannot be enforced", I will back this up by asking you to view the Royal Duchy and Torbay Express footage from today, especially along the sea wall and I will guarantee dozens of people hanging out of windows.

Let's accept it and move on.

By the way the Duchess in green looks fantastic although I think maroon just , if you'll pardon the pun, shades it. Nice to see the diesel not doing anything as well.
