But 20189 hasn't even managed to work a whole trip to Whitby since it arrived!

    2P07 1230 Grosmont-Pickering,
    2G10 1400 Pickering-Grosmont &

Any idea what's happened there? It's gone offline in the past for a day or two at a time, but it's been nearly a week now. Did I miss something?

It appears the free hosting is down or gone out of business. I believe something else maybe in the pipe lines for next week.

I can confirm this problem which has hit other groups that used it. Ben hopes to have a new server set up and be open for members again in about a week. It's just hoping that the last backup done hasn't lost any information other than the last days posts.

    Hi John
I had wondered what had happened to it. I tried to log on a couple of times over the past week and just got an error message from Chrome. Let's hope Ben is able to sort something out soon as some of us are missing our "NYMR Forum fix".

Yes indeed Anne, some are missing their daily fix while the Forum has been down.
I'm sure we are all thankful for Ben and the Teams work to get it up and running again.

What the Lord gives with one hand he takes away with the other. The Wombles are back and the unofficial forum gets lost in the web.C'est la vie!

Not my curse I hope! I had three excellent days last week and at long last got my fill of 61994, but it did break a spring on Friday and was taken out after 11:00 Pickering. 45428 substituted on 13:30 Grosmont with D7628 covering the short Whitby duty as a result. Timekeeping was remarkably good too, which is not something I often say about NYMR.

Even though the steam situation is now much improved since the dire days through July, it is still on a knife edge and any hiccup in loco availability is a serious problem. This coming week might be less good? 20189 is still a problem, failing to do a return to Pickering, following its failure to do a return to Whitby! Seems intermittent fault is desperately difficult to track down.

On a couple of days the classic scene at end of platform 3 at Grosmont worked, with perfect sun. This is the 10:25 arrival from Whitby chuffing in by the loco ready to work to Whitby to the right, passing the 10:25 arrival from Pickering to the left. This tended to be 76079 in the middle, 45428 to right and 63395 or 61994 to left.

With runs behind 60007, 61994, 63395, 45428 and 76079 (OK, a positioning move with 20142 too!) this is superb steam action.

It must have worked almost solidly (except washouts and essential repairs) since the beginning of daily running, so it is hardly surprising that a few things might need looking at!

Loco's usually face South out of Grosmont for the climb up to Goathland. I am sure somebody closer to the action will be able to confirm or deny.

All locos are boiler first from Whitby/Grosmont (tender first from Pickering)
