    Visited Southport yesterday after a couple of hours at the excellent West Lancashire Light Railway steam Gala and found the Lakeside railway closed and looking in need of a little TLC any ideas if it's shut for good?

    It was running a few weeks ago when I passed by, what time of day did you pass by, they often finish early it not too busy. Last summer summer I think they were closed quite a few Sundays, but seemed to run most weekdays.

    We were there from about 1:30 until 6 and no sign off life at all. Southport on the other hand and the pleasure land were really busy

    Its is owned by the owner of the Southport Pleasureland assessment park nowadays, so not sure how linked in its operations it is with the fair.
